Fans debate a continuity error in The Betrayal episode regarding Kramer's name on the apartment buzzer and Paul Buchman's presence, referencing a Mad About You crossover.
Guy: Oh! Hey how you doin'?
Another Guy: Oh hi! I'm Jerry Seinfeld , i'm moving in. I saw your name on the buzz : you must be Kessler.
Kessler: Uh no actually it's Kramer.
Jerry Seinfeld: Ah.
Kramer: Er..do you need any help or...?
Jerry: No thank, but i' orderd a Pizza : you want some of it?
Kramer: Er no no no, i...i couldn't impose...
Jerry: Why not? We're neighbours! What's mine is yours!

That has always puzzled me...why there's Kessler on the buzzer? I would understand if it was Buchman, but Kessler? On the first episode he was actually called Kessler (at least Jerry called him by that name).

chalk it up to bad writing...kind of annoys me, I hate when a show decides to break consistincy for the sake of one joke...
Buchman could have asked "Whatever happened to that Jerry guy" without having been Kramer's roommate. Kramer simply could have brought up Jerry in conversation with Buckman, and Buckman wondered about him.
Still consistent.

Not really, the insipration for Kramer was Larry David's neighbour, Kenny Kramer, who wasn't sure if he wanted his name used in Seinfeld when they taped the pilot episode in 1989, but by the time the first series went to be recorded, he had said yes, so Kessler became Kramer.
