Safe Wishes

To all our east coast American friends I hope you are all safe and get through this hurricane OK.

Speaking as one of the newsgroup's more prominent American East-coasters, thanks for the wishes Mike. It was touch and go for a while, but the storm curved north and spared us South Floridians. Now it looks as though Georgia and the Carolinas will take the brunt of the storm, and I join you in wishing them good fortune. Maybe it will make another right turn and head back out to sea.

But if you have a wish or two left over, save them for Hurricane Gert, which should become a huge local issue in several days.

When George said, "The sea was angry that day, my friends" in "The Marine Biologist", he didn't even have a clue what an "angry sea" really is.

I'm in contact with an old girlfriend who now lives in Nags Head, NC. She and her mother were evacuated this morning for the second time in 2 weeks. If you're saying a prayer for those who may be affected, include Nell and her mom.

Ah, the classic Seinfeld reference. Love it. And hould the rain subside by Saturday, I plan to take a pretty gal over to the Jones Beach boardwalk to view just how angry the sea is. Just have to decide on which pretty gal . . . .

Looks like its trip over NC made it nothing more than a bad rainstorm.

Not any more. It turned north much earlier than Floyd. It should die out in the mid-Atlantic.

New York is just a mess right now (although most businesses got off work today at noon, including myself). Tonight is supposed to be real bad, and tomorrow is supposed to be quite nice actually.
