I just started watching Seinfeld 2 months ago, and I've always cared for George's fiance Susan. And Thursday I saw the episode where they were sending out wedding invitations -and she died! Poor Susie........Why the hell did that happend?? Why did the writer write her out of the show??

I liked Susan too up until "The Invitations." In that episode, they suddenly turned her into a jerk. I almost fell off the couch laughing when she rolled her eyes to the heavens and keeled over.

Susan was a nice normal person, but not right for George. His getting married would've been his downfall. They need him to have the ridiculous situations that only dating can give him. If he got married it would've turned into "Mad About You." No offense to that show, I like it very much. It's just not "Seinfeld."

Actually, I always thought it would have been funny to show George married for a season and then to off Susan. Likewise, it would have been nice if once they had Jerry in a sustained relationship.

Heidi Swedberg, who played Susan, is alive and well. She showed up in "The Betrayal," remember? The woman who died of cancer - she was mentioned at the end of "The Invitations" - was named Marjorie something, and was a crew member. Anybody have more details about her?

Marjorie Gross was a producer and writer during Seasons 6 and 7 (1995-96). She wrote "The Fusilli Jerry", and also co-wrote "the Secretary" and "The Understudy" with Carol Liefer and co-wrote "the Shower Head" with Peter Mehlman,

She died of ovarian cancer in mid-1996 and the first episode of Season 8
("The Foundation") was dedicated to her.

She didn't die, that's how. If she really had died, the only way they could have filmed Susan's death was if they knew in advance that the actress was dying and had her film Susan's death then. I don't think even the folks at "Seinfeld" would do something like that. The actress who played Susan is still very much alive.

I, too, was always fond of Susan. I liked her as George's girlfriend (when

George took up smoking and then when he met with Marisa were classic's). I tried to look up her bio but it was very limited as far as information. I thought when she died was a little much - she could have dumped George for another loser or just fled the country.

You are totally making this up. The actress who played Susan, whose name is Heidi Swedberg, was in "Dennis the Menace Strikes Again", which was just released this year. That would be a great accomplishment for someone who you claim died in 1996.

What the hell are you people talking about?? The actress who played Susan IS alive and well. In fact, she was in an episode this past year (the backwards episode that took place in India, where she did a coffee-shop cameo with George). Plus, when Seinfeld aired for the last time in May, she was on an MSNBC talk show talking about her feelings for the cast members. Get your facts straight!

The actress that played Susan is not dead. She was in a 9th Season episode, the one that was backwards, in the scene from two years earlier. She can't be dead, in real life then.
