I'm sure most of you have noticed a different "feel" to how the episodes are coming across this season.
Some say it is because of there being no opening stand-up routine.
Others are saying it is because of the missing Larry David's influence.
I agree with both, really, but mostly with the second point. As many know, the characters on the show were "born" of the creative mind of Mr. David. George, Kramer, Newman, etc. were all his "children". He would exhaustingly watch over the taping of every episode and make sure that the personalities of the characters was maintained, and he did a pretty good job of it. In essence, he created a type of new tv-sitcom genre that others have attempted to duplicate.
Now, without him there, it has become somewhat obvious that his influence is missing...not painfully obvious, just somewhat obvious (at least to me).
I'm going to give Jerry a chance, though, to see if he can continue with the show this season and make it at least close to as good as the previous seasons. If he can achieve that, it will still be watching, for sure. So far, the past two episode, IMO, have been pretty close to that. Maybe he'll continue on with more like the last two. I hope so.
