Length of "Yada Yada"

Any other anal-retentive people out there notice how much longer "The Yada Yada" was than any other episode? As an avid video-taper, I've noticed that all episodes this season were within a few seconds of 22:35 w/o commercials. Last night's was 26:12 ! In my area, it ran from 8:59:32 to 9:33:11 ! (My wristwatch synchronized to atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado, but I digress.) Makes me glad I taped this one in first run, I'm sure it will be cut down to the usual 21:45 in syndication!

I had my VCR set to turn off at 9:30, and it cut off the show right when Jerry's girlfriend starts telling the dentist jokes. Grrrr....

Great idea, except when you want to tape several things over the course of the night. (I have classes Tue, Wed, and Thurs nights when most of the stuff I want to watch is on) Guess the only solution is to buy several VCRs and have each one record a show per day.

While we're on the subject, I still thought it was a good episode. So there.

This is why I ALWAYS set my recordings 2 minutes earlier and 2 minutes later than the target time.

If you depend on VCR Plus, then you deserve to miss some parts.....

I have done that for a long time, but usually found all I was doing was getting the closing credits of the previous show and a lot of commericals. Guess I'll have to live with that.

I am proud that I can set my own VCR clock, thank you very much. :)

I did catch her last line, and fortunately a friend filled me in on the rest. Gotta allow more time when taping, I guess.

The actual tape or filmstrip of an entire 30 minute broadcast on any network other than PBS or the equvalent is about 23 minutes. The rest is filled with commercials. Chances are there were too many commercials in there. :)

Wrong! See the other replies! Besides, I said in my post that all of my times were for PURE show material, commercials edited out.

Yes, "The Yada Yada" ran over by 3 minutes. I was reading a very small article in the New York Post about this and it said something like they knew it was longer but they couldn't find any place to cut it and make the episode a little shorter. I'll be the first to agree that I AM odd, but I do work 50-60 hours a week plus a long commute and never seem to have enough time to do all the things I want to do. I am just very observant, analytical, and compulsive. It just happens that I like Seinfeld enough to find 45 minutes or so a day to tape it religiously. I often leave work earlier than I might have to be home well before 7:30. I can't help but pay attention to the time to anticipate commercials for editing purposes.
