I think in the understudy episode both Jerry and George throw the ball with right hand and catch with left and the are both left handed. Didn't they have mitts for lefthanders or why is that?

Some people do cross-handed things. The world's most famous left handed golfer is actually right handed in everything else. I was dumbfounded when I saw him playing catch right handed with Bones before I knew that.
