On several SEINFELD episodes there's a character called "Crazy Joe Davola".... always referred to with the prefix "Crazy", as if you can't say his name without adding it.
In real life, there's a Hollywood producer named Joe Davola, he's the producer of, most recently, the tv series SMALLVILLE.
I just wondered if there's a connection; were the SEINFELD writers friends of his, and stuck his name in there as a joke?

Yep. Legend has it that Joe Davola kept bugging them to use his name, so they finally used it for the psychotic character "Crazy Joe Davola".

Interestingly, I believe "Crazy Joe" Gallo is a famous seventies New York gangster, that's probably where they got the "crazy" tag from.
