Watching Ellie (NBC) Premiere: February 26
Why It's Different: Yes, it's yet another show starring a Seinfeld alum--and we all know how successful they've been. But Ellie is the first comedy to take on the format that has made 24 so riveting. Every episode is one 22-minute block of time, with a countdown clock in the corner of the screen.
What It's About: Seinfeld's Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays Ellie, a slightly neurotic lounge singer who's living with a handful of wacky guys and in love with a married man.
Why You'll Dig It: Although Ellie's definitely more drama than comedy (I sure didn't laugh out loud), it's a creative format worth checking out--even if for only one episode.
