Jackie Chiles spinoff?

This is going back a while (maybe a year), but i recall reading somewhere about a sitcom idea being considered, that would feature all the legal adventures of Jackie Chiles (the black lawyer that represents Kramer). Has anyone else heard about this? Not sure if its fanfaction rumor, or a legitimate project being tossed around by the NBC execs. I for one, hope it becomes a reality. I tell ya, Jackie was the best background character on that show (with George's dad running a close second). "Who told you to put the balm on? I didn't tell you to put the balm on!!!"

     A pilot is either in pre-production or in actual production, and may make
the winter 2001 schedule if all goes as planned. Phil Morris is starring in the
role he created. Don't know who the rest of the cast will be.
     Jerry is giving his support, and he and the Seinfeld series' co-creator
Larry David have licensed use of the Jackie Chiles character. I've read
conflicting stories on how involved Jerry and Larry will be in the production
(some say they'll be hands off, but I've read reports they may be executive
producers with some creative input).
     NBC is the network slated to air it whenever it premieres.
