How did Elaine lose Pendant job?

Didn't Pendant go out of business when Elaine couldn't tell her boss to take a handkerchief to his meeting with the Japanese businessmen who were going to buy the company? Lippman sneezed in his hand and wouldn't shake hands with the Japanese, they got offended and dropped the deal.

Ah, yes, it's all coming back to me now. However, *now* I don't remember what happened with Jake Jarmel and the Jujyfruits. Anyone?
