I don't quite get this in The Burning episode when Jerry leaves on a high (showmanship) at the end. His girlfriend said she got gonorrhea from riding her boyfriends tractor and then Jerry say's something like "well, that's it for me, thanks guys" sand leaves through the door,
Can someone explain what the high was supposed to be in this.

Many of the episodes that were shown after Jerry decided he was ending the series (season: '97-'98) made references to the series itself.
So "leaving on a high" referenced the fact that Jerry, unlike so many other performers, was ending a series that was number one in the ratings. He left on a "high". That is also the credo of great comedians who always "leave them laughing". Jerry learned and used his craft well.
Other episodes like: "The Merv Griffin Show" - The Smithsonian institute asked Jerry to donate the set of the show (his apartment) for them to display. He refused, and, as he said on Leno, he did not want it to end up (in the basement in a crate) like the ending of Raiders of the Lost Arc. BTW is it a small coincidence that we do not see Jerry's apoartment in this episode?
In "The Comeback" George says he can't write as part of a group...."Alright, alright. You see? This is why I hate writing with a large group. Everybody has their own little opinions, and it all gets homogenised, and you lose the whole edge of it." ...refers to the show's writing team.
In "The Butter Shave" ... Kenny Bania's act is working, only because he is following on Jerry's coattails, a time-slot hit. ...this refers to the bad TV sitcoms that NBC put on following "Seinfeld" on Thursday nights.

I ,of course, always connected Jer's gonorrhea bail out to in-reference of Georgie's "leave on a high note" theory, but also just figured it was just the easily squeamish Jerry in action and staying in character. Jer couldn't kiss or got grossed out over little quirks, he would certainly pull an "I'm out'a here!" on a dumb blond with VD. He was bailing because she had the bug, but her being so dense would scare Jer off as well.;)
