Hello Newman

How come there hasn't been any discussion about Newman's name? Is it his first name or his last? Perhaps his name is Newman Newman. I get the feeling not too many of the readers of this net like Newman. Personally, I think he is hilarious.

Speaking a "Hello Newman"...we were this (| |) close to finding out Kramers full name last night when the shrink asked Elaine who she was seeing...well, I'm glad they didn't!

Some comments about last night's show (9/23):

What a relief to get Elaine back! I never realized how much she added until she was gone. Her facial expressions are wonderful. While George and Jerry can try to out-clever each other it is her disdain for such foolishness that puts everything in its proper perspective. I can't wait for Kramer (Is that his first name or last?) to call the shrink.

Jerry's parents add a lot to the show. I hope they don't become regulars (stay in Florida, it's the law!) but do make three or four appearances a year. The business about who pays was great. Have we all been there? "You don't think I make any money do you?" "Who wouldn't like Jerry?"

Whoever mentioned the possibility of Kramer's entrances becoming like those of the Fonz hit the nail on the head. Man oh man is that annoying. It is that sort of crapola that may make Jerry pull the plug early.

This show was much more like we have come to know and love. The LA shows and last week's were not up to par. This show was about nothing mostly and that is of course good. George is best when eating some of Jerry's food and ad-libbing during someone else's conversation/monologue. Kramer is better in reduced dosages. Newman sucks. He is OK if Jerry is making an ass out of him, but the courtroom scene? Come on.

The flashbacks: stop them. Seinfeld's audience is above average and devoted. We remember the watch from the previous episode. This show had many continuing threads from the previous one (the kick to the head, the shrink, the watch and the uncle, NBC, etc.) and is a nice change from sitcoms in a vacuum. What next, Kramer's coat flashbacks?

The show was about average for last season. I have my hopes up for next week.

I like the references to previous episodes but I'm a little worried about Seinfeld become more like a soap. It's interesting to have plots run across many episodes but what I like best about Seinfeld is how much they can do with "nothing". I hope they don't get too wrapped up in plots.

Not to get technichal, but wasn't it "Can we continue this another time?"
I hate "to be continued"'s, but if it had to be done, this was a pretty cool
way.  BTW, someone mentioned that "Seinfeld" was becoming sorta like a soap.

The threads are longer than that, even -- The reason for Jerry's parents even coming to New York was because of his Dad's back -- which he hurt in the sofa -- remember?
