Jerry expressed shock that he was dating a woman that Newman dumped. Since Jerry and Newman live in the same building wouldn't he have seen Newman with Margaret? Wouldn't Kramer, Newman's confidant, have known about it? Just wondering.

Well we dont really know when The evil one had dated here...Kramer and Newman might not have been bud's then, maybe Newman didnt live in the building at the time.....

Jerry must have known that Newman had been with Margaret but blocked out of his mind so that he could have Margaret. His chagrin over getting a Newman dumpee finally bubbled the truth to the surface.
