Any Dave Barry fans?

Just a small survey....anyone ever read any of Dave Barry's stuff?

Oh yeah. He's hilarious. The show, 'Dave' doesn't do his writing justice.

Yes. I love his stuff. living in South Florida, I'm blessed with a new column every Sunday in the Miami Herald. If you can find it, he's got a new book out. I can't recall the title, but it's all about his experience with computers. It's awesome! Lots of great cracks against Micro$oft.

Barry's good, but I like Carl Hiaasen better.

Never heard of Hiaasen. He's a social satirist, is he?

Have seen Barry's stuff in the Libertarian Party News or some such. (But didn't he also just write some book on "bad" song lyrics and trash Neil Diamond's "I Am, I Said"?)

Like also P.J. O'Rourke (http://www.web-presence.com/mac/pjhome.shtml), another one extremely skeptical of "good" government. Like me.

Now, is there a Seinfeld connection? (Speaking of social satire . . . .)

BTW, didja know Barry's in a rock band? It's called "The Rock Bottom Remainders" and it's made up of mostly well-known authors including Barry (lead guitar, vocals), Amy Tan (vocals), Stephen King (rhythm guitar, vocals), and Matt Groening (vocals). Their motto is, "We play music as well as Metallica writes novels."

Another cool Dave Barry tidbit:  He recently ran a "Worst Song"
contest in his column.  The winner?  "MacArthur Park".  The very
song that George was singing when he broke the statue ("The Statue").

Yes. Barry won a Pulitzer in 1988. His stuff seems to flow so easily.
