Uncle Leo is Jerry's uncle. I am not sure if it is mother's or father's brother. I think that he first showed up in the Pony episode at the funeral. Remember, Uncle Leo was telling Jerry how Leo's son was moving up in the world. Something like, he was moving from Washington Park to Central Park and how he will have all of the parks under his control soon. Also, the first episodes for this season had Uncle Leo finding one of Jerry's watches in the garbage. Uncle Leo's personality is half shyster and half schlock. He is always looking for the angle but it is always on a trite topic.
Actually, I had an Uncle Mike who was a salesman and kinda similar in personality. At one point, he was selling personal ids with micro fiche containing your medical history. At that time, he was living in a Florida retirement community and so he had some real bait. People would be begging him for a copy of the form to fill out and he would tell them to go the library and make a copy of it. Those old people started believing that this was real gold.
