Because the way the names of the peoples are derived from the names of the nations is different for these two examples.

Stern is a genius, he gets bigger numbers than Leno, Letterman and Larry King combined.

Very eloquent speech. To compare Howard Stern to the likes of Seinfeld, Letterman or even Larry King, is a disgrace. Howard Stern has been known to be funny from time to time, but it's the same old thing (getting women naked in the studio, talking about the guest's sex life, making fun of people with handicaps, etc.) Maybe I'm missing the humor in his high-class approach. Howard Stern is no genius! He is simply a shock-jock who's had his day in the sun and should pack it up soon.

I "get" Stern. And back when I was 14, I enjoyed listening to his show. But after puberty, I needed something more than fart jokes to entertain me.

I think 90% of all comedy is above Stern's brand. It's not hard to insult other celebrities, poke fun at the homeless, the handicapped and other minorites and spew sexual innuendos. "Shock jock" is not above *any* brand of legitimate humor.

I'll say. David Stern has done wonders for the NBA, especially restoring the fans' faith after the work stoppage of two seasons ago.
