What did you think of last nights show?

I'm still trying to decide if I enjoyed last nights special. I think they rushed through some of the really funny stuff.

I thought the show rotted.

What makes all of the snippets funny from Seinfeld isn't the scenes themselves -- it's the running jokes that lead up to them, or knowing why the characters said the things they said or did the things they did. I think they depended too much on the viewer filling in the blanks, like they were saying, "Hey, Seinfeld fan. Rememebr the episode where Kramer sinks the golf ball in the whale's blow hole?" Well, the fan will remember the show, and laugh, but the scenes they showed themselves were stupid as hell.

I dunno -- the jokes in Seinfeld are the result of so much background from things happening earlier in the episode, that taking scenese by themselves just seemed like a stupid idea.

P.S. There was a HUGE story on Seinfeld (not the character but the series as a whole) in this past Sunday's LA Times. They spoke with all of the characters and what they thought of the show, the characters ON the show, and the writers. They also spoke with the creative staff (producers, writers, etc), and gave a great idea of how the show is filmed. Anyone see it?

My only complaint was that they did not have the clip of Kramer saying "you hit the ball out into the ocean, it hangs there for a moment and then....gulp!" to lead up the swinging shot and George's Whale story (even Kramer shaking out the sand from his shirt in that episode was hilarious).

I'd never seen "The Contest" or "magic loogie" scenes before. Thank you Seinfeld creators and NBC for a good retro show.

The one clip I wish they had shown was the one where Jerry's looking for a restaurant (wasn't it Chinese or Thai?) and he walks past this mailman who happens to be Asian and asks him if he knows where the restaurant is, and the guy totally goes off on him. I thought that was one of the funniest little moments I've ever seen.

The biggest laugh I had during the clips that *were* shown was when Kramer's describing his heroic bus rescue, and George says, "You're Batman!" and Kramer replies, "Yeah, yeah I am Batman!" I don't know why, but that line always gets me.

That, and when Elaine accidentally gets ink and stuff all over her boss, so that he looks like Hitler when he's making that speech to the shareholders.

That is one of the best episodes; it was the first one I ever saw, and I still remember how funny it was :)

I thought it was an excellent episode! I thought they were going to ruin the whole thing by having someone set up each scene they were about to show. Thank heavens they didn't! I agree that they did rush throught some of the really funny stuff but you gotta realize they only had one hour. They should have made it a 2 hour special!

They seemed to go over some hilarious episodes very fast and not show enough of others. Teri Hatcher was great coming back into the room and saying "Yes, they're real and they're SPECTACULAR!" but if you weren't already very familiar with the show you wouldn't know what she was talking about. If they preceeded this with about 30 seconds of scenes leading up to it it would have been much better.

The scene with George telling the folks about his mother catching him doing it to himself was great. I didn't see the original but they showed enough to be hilarious. They should have done the same with Teri Hatcher etc.

the 100th episode was made for the long-time diehard fans. that's why jerry said "if your tuning in late, this is what went on so far". i think it was a kind of thank you from seinfeld to the oh say couple of dozens of us, who watched the pilott, and stuck with them for all these years. jenn

I had never seen the car reservation one, but I thought that one was one of the funnier ones. And the one where Elain and Jerry have to combind this (their friendship) with that (sex). Again I hadn't seen that one and I thought it was pretty funny.
