Both people at the same time throw a certain number of fingers. If the sum of the fingers is odd, the one that picked odd wins. If the sum of the numbers is even then the one that picked even wins. Example:
You and I want to decide who is going to go out with a nice young lady named Michelle. She only wants to go out with one of us, but she does not care who is it. We decide to choose. I pick Odd, and you pick even. We do the 1,2,3 - shoot. I throw two fingers out, and you throw 3 fingers out. We then add the numbers 2 and 3 and find out that it equals 5. We then proceed to find out what is the number 5. Is it odd or is it even. By going back to the old 3rd grade mathematics, we find that 5 is an odd number(I won't go into detail). Since 5 is an odd number and I picked odd, you are staying home, and I am going out with Michelle.
