10/9 episode

I think that the episode they showed tonight was one of the funniest I have seen in a long time. It was hilarious! Kramer turning his hallway into an all-American front porch, Jerry becoming emotional, Elaine having "Shikappeal" and of course the best line in the whole show was when Jerry said something like "so what if I'm not funny anymore? Maybe there's more important things than meaningless observations of the obvious." That seemed to sum up the mass consensus of the whole series right there. What's better than a show that can make fun of itself? Seinfeld isn't dying. It's just off once in a while.

I also thought it was funny that George said that Jerry wasn't ever sincerely angry because it still looked like he was making a joke. This reminded me of earlier complaints of Jerry cracking a smlie in the show when jokes were made. Sure he's not a great actor, but I also love how the show can make fun of itself. Seinfeld is not dead!

Well, after the first three episodes of this (possibly last) season it seems that the SEINFELD crew is determined to make some comments about their industry and their critics instead of cranking out the incredible shows they used to.

I mean, I did laugh at all three episodes but that's because I (and I guess most of the people in this NG) am a long time fan (except for that guy who still insists that it's called Steinfeld) and can recognize the in-jokes and call backs. I would imagine that anyone without a Seinfeld "background" would be very lost.

Funny, yes, to insiders. More than a little self-indulgent? Oh yeah.

My mom is visiting this week and she doesn't watch Seinfeld very often. She loved this episode, laughed the whole time. Yes, she missed some insider jokes but didn't even realize it. :)

I personally didn't care for the episode, but I did think it was funny, and perfectly worded, when George said something like "You never yell; your voice just raises to a comedic pitch." Perfect.

I loved when Jerry broke up with his girlfriend and Elaine said, "You break up with one every week."

Hilarity for 30 minutes!

It wasn't bad! I really enjoyed Kramer's front porch and Jerry's attempts to show his emotions. I didn't care for George's and Elaine's plotlines. The show is on its' way back.

I agree, I thought it was one of the better episodes I've seen in a while. It just might have to go down as a classic. :) Sensitive Jerry was great. Someone else mentioned that the serenity now was a bit over done and I think I agree. When George was trying to get away from Jerry's wont of a hug, that was great. :)

I loved the show and am glad I taped it to watch again. It seems that Seinfeld is determined to go as far over the top as they can cause "what-the-hell" it's probably their last season.

In that light I had the sense that they were going through a grab-bag of ideas they've had over the years but couldn't use until this year. The sales boiler-room idea with Georges father was a delicious take-off of the Mamet film, Glengarry Glen Ross, which is several years old. As is the "Sensitive Jerry" subplot; that kind of New Age getting-in-touch-with-your-feelings crap is not exactly a fresh concept.

Still, I didn't care cause they executed it well, particularly Jerry trying in vain to sound angry. Kramer's reaction when yelled at for raiding Jerry's fridge was priceless. (I can't recall hearing him laught that way before. . .). Kramer's whole subplot was a scream; I loved how they kept milking the concept further and further with each scene culminating in the toilet paper and baseballs. Great stuff.

Additionally, it seems that favored characters are getting to take a curtain call for this possibly last season. So far, Banya, Putty and last night Braun (sp?). I wonder who's next? Great bit where Georges father admitted he knew Braun was still insane; "He just likes to ring the bell."
