Maybe I looking at this from an entirely different perspective, but isn't "We Didn't Start the Fire" too fast to be a "power song" in the vain of Desperado? With me it's "Knights in White Satin" because whenever it comes on I have to listen to it in sort of a mediative fashion, and it gives me chills. Kind of like what believe Puddy was doing.

I'm not sure of the name of the song, or who came up with it. I've got the song in a 30 kb midi file, if I should post it (just to be certain we're talking about the same song). It has no words (at least no words are played) and uses a lot of wind and brass instruments.
Another song that moves me (and no, that's not a perverted comment...) is the theme from M*A*S*H, "Suicide Is Painless"...and I'm talking about the version with words (used in the movie M*A*S*H) though the instrumental version (on the tv show) still gives me goosebumps too...
The visuals from that part of the movie helps.

Ahhh, now you're getting it. Good one. If I didn't already have "Nights (no K) in White Satin" as my power song, I think it would have been "Kiss from a Rose."
History lesson?
Seriously, when that album came out, there were reports of high school history teachers using the lyrics to teach world events. If you look at the liner notes/lyrics in the CD case, you'll see years associated with each grouping of historical references from the 50's to the 90's. You memorize the lyrics in order, along with the associated years, and you've learned more than most High School history classes will teach you about the post-WWII era in a whole semester.

That's "Goodnight Saigon" from "The Nylon Curtain" and I posted my thoughts about that song elsewhere in this thread.
Since we're on Billy Joel, another song that moves me is "I've Loved These Days", mostly because it was my HS Senior prom theme and hearing it brings back a flood of memories from that time in my life.
