But seriously, what is that genre called and who listens to that kind of music for real? (For those who wants to know, it's Manana by Jackie Davis)

The genre of Mr. Davis' rendition of Manana could be currently labelled 50's Lounge Music, which had a rennaisance of sorts in the United States in the mid nineties (eg: Combustible Edison's _I Swinger_ album). In its day, the Davis version of Manana would have been categorized as dance music: Samba, Rhumba, Mambo, or Cha-Cha.

Peggy Lee's well known version of Manana would likely be categorized as post World War II novelty music, in which it seemed fun for USA:n lyricists to make light of other "strange" cultures (eg: Guy Lombardo's _Managua - Nicaragua_, Danny Kaye's _Civilization (Bongo, Bongo, Bongo)_, Vaughn Monroe's _The Maharajah of Magador_) and poke fun at rural America (eg: Bing Crosby's _Pistol Packin' Mama_, Dinah Shore's _Doin' What Comes Naturally_, Dorothy Shay's _A-Feudin' and A-Fightin'_).
