The only thing I don't like about these past two seasons is how they've changed Elaine. Up until the 95/96 season, she had a sweet personality with a sense of vulnerability. Now she comes off with that attitude that just doesn't do the show any justice. Watch some of the older shows--like when she took too many pain killers for her back down in Florida, or when she took all the t.p. out of the stall to get back at Jerry's girlfriend. Or when she was fasting during "The Suicide." The list can go on and on...
Yeah, but I think her character is consistently funny now. Back in the old days, she had the occasional great line, but she was never that funny. In the past two seasons she's started providing laughs in every episode. A perfect example is "The Little Kicks".
I agree on this point...Elaine has become a much better and consistent

Besides, look back to the first season and then to the eigth
season...compared to the other characters, Elaine has aged very
little...I think she is the most beautiful sitcom star on television
today...I guess she must have a bit of that "Physilla Rashad" disease

Really?? I've thought exactly the opposite: she looks really old now! I dress and have hair kinda like the "old Elaine," and several times I've thought, "Gosh, I hope I don't look that old in a few years!"
Though she is still definately attractive, I must say that she used to be WAY more so. That is minor, however, when compared to her personallity. She used to actually be nice--thought about people and smiled most of the time. These days she is more like a female version of Jerry (which is funny, but I kind of liked the nice Elaine). Just my two cents worth.
I think anyone who thinks JLD is the "most beautiful sitcom star on television today" isn't seeing much action. Quite easily the most ludicrous statement I've heard in sometime..but hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose. :) (but hey, JLD is pretty, I just don't think she comes even close to the prettiest).
I agree completely. Not just for her, but all the characters (with the exception of Kramer) have gotten meaner and darker this season. One of the things I really like about the characters before is that they were basically good people with quirks. George had the least number of redeeming features, but his dedication to Jerry made up for some of that <G>. Elaine used to be really nice and helpful (look how she helped George escape banishment from the health club when he used the shower drain to take a leak), but now is mostly a mean bitch who hasn't done a kind or charitable thing for anyone this year - at least I can't recal lany. Even JLD has called the current Elaine "a miserable wretch". Physically, as well, she's put on tons more makeup - not that there's anythign wrong with it, but it's definitely different. :)
Would you mind telling me who is then? And please don't say Teri Hatcher, or any of the friends, because bimo-looks aren't everything...<not that they aren't attractive too, but...>
Are you forgetting that the only reason Elaine bailed George out was to get back (ie. revenge, mean spirited, etc.) at the guy who was flirting with her who asked out a different girl... She hasn't changed that much in terms of personality...and physically, considering she's had two children, aged eight+ years, and is currently pregnant...I don't think she looks that bad!
You know who I think is incredibly attractive is Kristen Johnsons from Third Rock. My husband (who I mentioned definitely prefers the "old Elaine" also likes Jane Leeves from Frasier a lot.
