NY Times TV listings

In the NY Times, they put next to the name of a program a white star if the Times' TV critic feels it's particularly worthy of viewing. I looked in Thursday's Times and noticed that "Seinfeld" has a white star next to it. Then, I went to Wednesday's Times. Lo and behold, there was no star next to "Home Improvement".

Is there really any kind of competition to be wary of now that the show has bee n moved to Thursdays? Is there anything else worth watching? I think not. But is this time slot permanent? I liked it a hell of a lot better on Wednesday s, and I have a feeling that I am not alone.

The slot is permanent in the sense that NBC will probably move Seinfeld to 9PM Thursdays to replace Cheers after this season (and the end of the Cheers reruns). Hopefully, they'll move Mad About You to Thursday, say, 9:30PM.

It was too bad they split up the Seinfeld and Mad About You hour. The two shows really seemed to work well together, esp. with the NY, Jewish things going on. Saturday night is an *awful* time for a sitcom (Mad About You); I hope they move it soon - it's a very good show, and I've already missed two episodes!
