yesterday, bill maher referred to the seinfeld show in a joke in his opening monologue of his show on comedy central, "politically incorrect". this was the show with tony curtis, a senior editor from time magazine, mark morris (the dancer and coreographer), and a woman country singer. i can't remember the complete joke, darn it, but it was roughly:
"blah, blah, blah. so-and-so compared it to the seinfeld show--it's
about nothing!"
audience: big laughwhat made the show even more amusing was the spontaneous conversation later:
the last half of the show ended up being about men, women, and sex.
mark morris: "[but] i'm queer."
toward the end of the show:
tony curtis, to bill maher (roughly): "...your girlfriend. or
maybe you
have a boyfriend!?" [pause]
audience: big long laugh
bill: "that's so preposterous... well, you heard the laugh."
[pause]
audience: very big laugh
bill, putting both hands up, palms forward, glancing at mark
morris:
"not that there's anything wrong with that!"
audience: biggest laugh
