barber episode

I have only seen this once in repeats. Is this one that they somehow cancelled?

Was it considered anti-barberite and axed? Or was it just unpopular. I thought it was one of the funniest. This is the one where Kramer wants Jer to switch barbers. cc

I've seen this one at least five or six times in re-runs. And, yes, I think that it's one of the top ten episodes they've ever done.

Yes, barbers all across the country were offended because the episode showed Jerry not liking his new haircut, so it was insulting to all barbers. The barbers demanded an apology during the next episode, and they made such a fuss that the episode was pulled from syndication.

:) In case you couldnt tell, my question was also a joke. A curious footnote - my own hairdresser, a Seinfeld fan, said this episode made her vaguely uncomfortable and she didnt know why. :)

And by the way, I hated the finale and loved this episode. GEneralizations never seem to work.

Can you imagine how upset the barbers would have been if Jerry would have put on a barber pole with armholes and run down the street? Especially during a parade.
