Banya

I wonder if NBC is really planning a show on the Banya caracter. Every other popular NBC sitcom has had a spinoff at the end. I had allways hoped for a Kramer\Newman\Mickey show. But Banya, forever stuck at the Improv following good comics would be a nice premise for a series. You could have real comics guesting on the show with Eddy sucking off them.

Hey, NBC has so many toliet shows this season, might as well have some hope and give everyone in Seinfeld their own show. Those I will watch. I refuse to watch such wastes of space like Tea Lioni (sp?) in The Naked Truth (where she should be naked...THAT I will watch.)

On the topic of spinoffs, who else could spinoff of Seinfeld. Consider the case of Cheers. There was only one successful spinoff character. I would never have thought it could be Frasier Crane. In retrospect he was the only one who could spinoff.

Back to Seinfeld, the only characters who have a life away from Jerry are Elaine and Newman. Which one could spin off?

Okay, I'm not up on my 70's sitcoms, but what was the relationship? Was Mindy from Milwaukee?

I don't think she had any relationship to Milwaukee or the 50's. If I recall, Mork was introduced during the final death throes of Happy Days. I think Richie C. dreamed about meeting Mork, who turned out to be real--or was he a dream?--one of those type of things). After that he (Mork) fast-forwarded to the late 70s/early 80s and into his own show. I'm pretty sure he was introduced into Happy Days solely as a means of introducing the new show.

In Happy Days, the Fonz tried to set up Mork with Luverne, and gave him "dating" advice. Hence the line "Arughh, Fonz, he wants to nibble my earlobe!!!"
