George's Job

I had read in the newspaper that George would be fired from the Yankees, but it did not happen. - Did anyone else read this or know why it didn't happen?

The official story is that they had shot too much footage and had to edit the real Steinbrenner scene out. This could be true because the show was pretty tight. I didn't notice any scenes that looked out of place and it didn't drag out anywhere. They say they may be able to fit the scenes in next season.

The unofficial story is that NBC was mad at Steinbrenner for revealing the plotline to the press and they cut his scenes.

Either way, I wouldn't look for the scenes next fall.

I read it too...George Steinbrenner filmed scenes in which he fired George, but these were edited from the final show. I don't know if this was because of time problems, or because Steinbrenner blabbed about it, and ruined the surprise.
