I have heard this from others, but I don't really think it's true. I think we've seen more high concept episodes this year than in the last few. for instance: the backwards episode; Kramer's intern; the Merv Griffin set; Festivus. I think it's been very good.

PLEASE!!!! Take a look at some of the very early episodes. I'm talkin' first and second season. Now THAT is forced acting. He always had to keep from laughing at his own jokes. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Seinfeld, always have since the first season, BUT there is no way anyone can say the acting seems more forced now than in the early seasons. How about Jason Alexander's blatant Wood Allen rip-off in the ancient episodes? That is what I think I like most about the older episodes. I love watching the characters form and then finally gel into what they are today.

And I guess what I meant was that Jerry used to have that humble quality about him where he tried to act, knew he wasn't very good at it, so he just did it and sometimes he had a hard time keeping his laughter in.
