Newman's new job

Newman is apparently moving up in the postal world. Last year, he had a lowly Bronx mail route (Recall the episode where he had to get Calzone at a bakery in the Bronx for George to bring to Mr. Steinbrenner). This year, he was suddenly a postal inspector, grilling Jerry about the phony stereo insurance scam. Then, all of a sudden he was back on a mail route and vying for the prestigious Honolulu route. It is very unusual for a mere mailman to suddenly be elevated to the position of postal inspector. This is a quantum leap in the post office. Has Newman been doing something we haven't been told about. On another subject, of course Jerry and George truly like Newman. Jerry clearly wanted Newman to stay and not take the Honolulu route. He had enough faith in New man to have Newman adjudicate the Benes-Kramer bike flap and George trusted him to get the calzone for Mr. Steinbrenner "and a Twinkee"
