marble rye

I have two questions, both from the marble rye episode. #1. What is the name of the bakery that sells the marble rye? #2. What is the stuff Kramer fed the horse that caused him to.. um... become flatulent? Thanks a lot. Kate

I forget the bakery, but the horse food was Beef-a-reno.

The original script called for the real thing: Beef-A-Roni. For some reason the company caught wind and DIDN'T want _Seinfeld_ to use their name, so they changed it. Truly amazing considering the great product visibility that _Seinfeld_ provides.

Was it Baked Beans that he bought a huge can of, along with a bunch of other bulk foods? Or maybe it was a beef stew? Not much help,huh!

Beef a rino from the Price Club, Kramer bought lots of large cans, had to get rid of it. billfd10

It's a "Schnitzer's" (sp?) rye.

Kramer was really keen-o for "Beefarino".

Answer to #2 - Beefareeno. (The producers originally wanted to use Beef-A-Roni, but the Chef Boy-Ar-Dee people didn't want the bad publicity.)

1. The bakery was known as Schnitzer's. Hence, George's parents wanted to stop on the way to dinner to pick up a "Schnitzer's Marble Rye."

2. Kramer fed the horse Beef-a-Reno. It is a direct spin-off of Chef Boyardee's Beef-a-Roni.
