Come on....

Does anyone else think it's pretty lame that there haven't been as many new episodes over the last month or so compared to other sitcoms that AREN'T ending this season? Personally, I think it is.

When everyone makes a gazillion dollars an episode, they don't need to make as many. Moreover, If they had 20-22 new episodes this season, the material would REALLY be dilluted. We'd have like 8-10 episodes that just SUCKED, along with 8-10 episodes that were mediocre. There was a guy on this NG that hated the new episodes and he wrote every day to tell us all how bad Seinfeld was and also to profess his love to Larry David for the 1000th time. I forget his name but anyway he was at least a little right. Now that I have seen a lot of the reruns, I realize that the show HAS lost something. It is often, not over the top, but since they have done so much, they come up with really wacky ideas that people can't relate too. Like Festivus. The show is still funny, but's it's almost a totally different kind of humor. Seinfeld was really funny with a real life issue like masturbation that they covered in The Contest. But once you've done it - you can't do it again. It seems sometimes that the characters don't make a big deal of ANYTHING. Real people do. One more thing, Jerry should be sane and anchored, not wacky and childlike. I liked it when he joked around and was aware of his immaturity to an extent, but for the most part he was very anchored. How can Kramer be a wacko when Jerry is a wacko? There has to be a comparison. I just remembered that guy's name - Justin Tribble. Anyone remember him? Does he still post?

No. There are 18. That's more than I thought, but it explains the "The Blood", "Serenity Now", and "The Voice". Although "The Voice" is worth watching just to see the part with Kramer dropping a ball of oil out a window.

Now see, I loved all of those episodes. "All aboard the pain train!" Lloyd Bridges was great in "The Blood". Then Frank in "The Serenity Now" was a classic. And I love imitating the voice. That was great, with Kramer and his intern, Darin.

This season will end with 23 episodes (25 if the rumors that "The End" will be 2 hours long), and 179 in total (181 if "The End" is 2 hours long)

No, there will be 22. The finale will be the 21st and 22nd, as it will be 2 hours long, counting as 2 episodes. After the finale, there will be a one hour "mockumentary" on how they made the finale or something. Trust me.

I can't trust you, since Jerry said there wouldn't be a mockumentary in the end of January

George, I am a great fan of the show but agree there have been no 'extraordinary' eps this season. Even though the show is funny it has not defined any new ground. But can we really expect that year after year. They have experimented a bit and that changes the characters' personalities. Some people are bothered by that but I also agree with you that Jerry should be the 'normal' anchor to the rest of the team's absurdities. Justin does not post here any more but he is probably lurking. Looking forward to May though... and will then feel a loss when it's over...

Come on!! What about "The Betrayal"?? That is certainly defining new ground!! I mean, what other show has had a backwards episode? They did it so well, too!

The Seinfeld contract called for 22 episodes this season. We get to see 22 new episodes this season no matter what. So what's the difference how they choose to space them out?
