Cantstandya

I'm really getting sick of seeing George Cantstandya so much. I really can't stand this guy. Sure his character is needed, but he has way too many lines. I would much rather see more of Elaine & Kramer. I find it hard to believe that Jerry would actually tollerate George, much less be his best friend. Is George suppost to be funny or anoying? I rarely laugh at anything he does, I just cuss him for being so stupid.

I hope they get off this NBC pilot stuff soon, its getting old.

Thanks Phil, for motivating me to write about George Cantstandya (by the way very clever). I too am quite tired of his nebbishy wining. They taken his character just a little too far. The epitome was the episode where he tried to win back his former girlfriend at NBC. When he got her back, he didn't want he r anymore. Not even remotely funny as a plot line. Maybe the writers could have George thrown in jail for income tax evasion or welfare fraud.... having him serve 5-10 would make me happy.. --- Kevin

I can't count the number of times that I've been walking through a mall with a woman and, as if drawn by a magnet, they must stop and look at every shoe store in the place. I thought this analogy was most appropriate and funny. Also, with regards to the episode when George was trying to get his NBC girlfriend back...the look on his face as he started up the stairs to her apartment was priceless....I completeley lost it!

Keep up the good work Jerry & Co.!!

ARE YOU KIDDING??? If you've never met a woman who wasn't a fiend for shoes, you need to try walking around OUTside of your house. Just kidding. Although I agree that George is an invaluable implement in the show, Jerry's stand-up bits make the show complete! They take the plot of the show (NOTHING :) ) and relate it to real life. That is hilarious to me.

Well, if you're going to go off on George, at least have the decency to spell his name right. I have no idea what you typed, but that sure isn't his last name. And I happen to think that he is pretty funny. I mean, his insecurity sometimes reminds me of people I know and it makes me laugh. Why don't you lighten up a bit and enjoy the show.

If you are going to rag on the guy who ragged on George, you can at least have the decency to know the storylines of some of the shows. In the show with the over due library book, there is a man who refers to George Costanza as George "Cantstandya". Get with the act!!!

It's a reference to the episode about the library book (I guess that's the real center of the whole show). In highschool, Jerry and George had this crazy coach who call George "Cantstandya" instead of Costanza, and gave his a wedgie.

I like George okay, but I still like to call him Cantstandya sometimes, even before this thread came up.

Oops, I guess I must publicly apologize. I didn't think of the "cantstandya" show when writing my reply. I was just getting tired of people George-bashing and wanted to see how that person liked it. I mean, George is essential to the show and I want him to be appreciated properly.

I think he reminds me of me. I am George.
