George's brother

In "The Suicide" George mentions a brother who impregnated a girl. Why has he never been mentioned again (or has he)??

He's been mentioned in a couple other episodes. I don't remember which one. But we've never seen him or heard his voice, and he hasn't been mentioned ever by anyone other than George. Michael Alexander

If they were ever going to introduce a brother to George, it should have been the character who George found when interviewing for the grant in The Foundation. (Remember, he wanted to be an "architect" and George had a fit when the Foundation interviewed him and he wanted to do more...and become a city planner...?) I looked for someone with the last name of Alexander thinking he HAD to be George's real-life brother. The Hermit "Reality is for people who lack imagination." (bumper sticker)

Hey, I know!! They should introduce George's brother as a new character, and he should be black!

A while ago I think they were thinking about introducing George's brother into the show. Some people wanted Jason to play both, others wanted Larry David to play the brother, etc. Some people wanted George's brother to be his opposite, some wanted them to be exactly the same. At any rate, with one season left, they won't be introducing any more characters. The viewers would get too attached. Michael Alexander

George has also said that his father was gay (not there's anything wrong with it).

George is a liar, perhaps this may explain the reference.

On an earlier show it was mentioned that Jerry has a sister, we've never seen or heard about her since. Also on the Nip show Elaine is on the phone with her sister because her nephew had confiscated the picture with her nip showing. We've never seen or heard more from them. Elaine's father appeared in one episode and she does on occasion mention her mother but we've never seen her. Imagine what these people would be like.

Hey, what ever happened to George's brother? He mentions him a few times in the first season, but then after that it's like he doesn't exist. Has anyone heard of a explanation why George doesn't have a brother anymore? Any info would be great.

I think it's just a continuity error. Nobody but George has mentioned the brother, and he's only been referred to a few times. Although the did hold auditions a while ago for a brother. Many thought Jason should play both Costanza boys. Many thought the brother should be tall and thin with a full head of hair, perfect vision, a good job, married, etc. Others thought that Larry David should be George's brother. But it never panned out, and George's brother was cast into the abyss of Seinfeld mystery.

Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld are the original creators of the show. Larry kind of sees himself as "George", and Kramer was a neighbor of Larry's.

It's called the "Chuck Cunningham" syndrome, after Richie Cunningham's elusive older brother who appeared only in the first season of Happy Days and then mysteriously disappeared, as if he never existed.
