Mr. Costanza was selling church thingies because he is the christian one and George's mother is the jewish one. Hence the Italian last name and the italian references. End of story, IMHO. Steff

Maybe this will be settled with the type of church that Susan and George plan to marry in. If it is a synagoge, we will have to assume that one of them is Jewish...if it isn't, we will have to assume that one of them is the religion of the church they choose to marry in. In any case, it will help narrow the choice down.

I thought couples got married in the bride's church. That's what both of my brothers did.

Side note: If at all possible, try to avoid Macedonian weddings. One of my brothers married a woman from Macedonia and their wedding was the longest in recorded history. In the middle of July. In a poorly ventilated church. And we had to stand during the whole thing.

Couples do not always get married in the bride's church. In some religions (Catholicism, Johovia's Witnesses, and a few more that slip my mind) you have to convert to the religion in order to be married in the particular church and I know that it is not always men who do the converting. I think you just choose the religion you want to get married in and whomever is not of that religion converts if need be (or doesn't convert if they don't want to in which case you marry in a church that doesn't require it or you see the justice of the Peace:)

BTW, I will be sure to avoid the Macedonia wedding ceremony:)

You may be right about the JW's, (I really don't know) I also know that you must be a Mormon in good standing to be married in a temple. However you are mistaken about Catholicism. If either the bride or the groom is Catholic, the couple is encouraged to marry in a Catholic church. There is no requirement that the spouse must convert.

Whoops! Sorry about that. Considering that I was raised Catholic, I suppose I should know that. Thanks for the correction!
