I've kinda been a lurker in this newsgroup, but just recently I've made a bet with a good friend of mine, and I was hoping that someone out there might be able to help us settle this little bet. Here is the question: Is the "Dreyfus" part in JLD's name somehow related to another famous "Dreyfus", say for instance Richard Dreyfus?? Were they ever married or anything like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated, THANKS in advance!!
Somebody asked this in an issue of my local TV guide a little bit ago. The writer of that column said that there is no relationship between the two.

Someone asked this question a while back. The person who answered it mentioned that the last names aren't even spelled the same. Richard spells his name Dreyfuss. I heard an interview with him since then in which he said that he added the second "s" to his name. It was originally speeled the same way as JLD's.
Julia is a member of a family that runs a French/American commodities trading firm called Louis-Dreyfus. She's from a pretty weathly background. I believe her uncle is CEO of Adidas. Louis-Dreyfus is her family name.

I have heard that she IS related to Alfred Dreyfus, the one who wrote the famous "J'accuse".
Considering Richard spells his name "Dreyfuss" and Julia's last name is "Louis-Dreyfus", I would say, no, they are neither Father/Daughter nor related by marriage. Julia is married to Brad Hall, who was on SNL with her and now produces the spectacularly unfunny "The Single Guy".
