Fans confirm the Bubble Boy episode features scenes shot on the Taconic Parkway in upstate New York, with local viewers recognizing the familiar road.
In the Bubble Boy episode, I am pretty sure that Jerry loses George on the Taconic PKWY, in upstate NY.
This is the road that I take to School, so I'm pretty sure it looked familiar, and they were going to the cabin in upstate NY.

Yep, it's definitly the Taconic. We tried to read the road signs to figure out exactly where, but they were unreadable (maybe they did that on purpose).

Of course, why would anybody want to drive on the Taconic? IMO it's the worst road I've ever driven on.
Definitely the Taconic...and I was able to read some a sign pointing to the Saw Mill as well...probably filmed around the Kensico Dam.

I guess it also depends if you're driving a car made for a road like that or not. I do!

I must have driven my roommate nuts when the Taconic showed up on Seinfeld. When they were talking about going "upstate" I figured they'd do the normal sitcom "show the picture of the cabin" and then "we're here." When they were driving, all I could think was, "Man, they're probably taking the Thruway--I hate the Thruway."
Re: the Taconic as a road of death/fun, I used to hate it, until one trip to Poughquaig that would have been really inconvienient to do with any other route. It was the most beautiful Summer day, and I had the road all to myself.
As to cars, I've driven that road a number of times in an '83 Sentra, including one time with a loose power steering belt. It's all in your mind. Once you get used to the narrow lanes, and some of the curves, you'll start to appreciate it more.
The sad part is that down around Westchester they're widening it with a vengence. They uprooted hordes of trees, and are a nice, wide, ugly road that still curves enough to displease my parents.
Besides--it's **FREE** $.30 for the strip of Thruway you need, and $2.50 for a bridge (unless they've raised it in the past 6 mos) is the cheapest way from L.I. to Albany
Sorry for the waste of bandwidth, but compared to SOME of the things I've seen here...

No question! It was definitely the Taconic. I recogized the stretch of road they used. I used to travel the road alot between NYC and Pleasant Valley, New York (near Poughkeepsie).
I also thought they mentioned the name of the road at some point - maybe I just ASSUMED they had said it?
