Will George recover for the next season?

At the end of the Season Finale, "The Summer of George", we learn that George doesn't have a lot of chance to use his legs again, if we believe what the doctor said. Is there someone in this newsgroup who knows or have an idea if George will recover for the next season? If we believe the end of the episode (George falling while trying to walk), George does not seem to be able to walk. Will they use the sudden handicap of George to bring some all new situations to the show(George falling in love with his nurse, the Florence Nightingale syndrome(or is it Clara Nightingale? ref."The Junior Mint") or maybe they will do the coffee shop talking over the bed of George) or maybe he will recover for the next season and it was just the idea of this single episode, maybe also it's the way they will set a complete year of related episodes that will lead to the series finale(as we know Jerry doesn't want to make ten seasons and the next one will be the ninth). If you don't understand what I mean by a season of related episodes think at the 4th season when they had the idea for a show about nothing, a pitch at NBC, the writing of a pilot and finally the production of the pilot itself. Finally my last idea, (the worst), it would be a way to dump George off the show(Practically inconceivable idea). If you have any suggestions post them!!

I got the impression from the season finale that George would walk again, but that it would just take ALL summer for him to recover. So the carefree "Summer of George" would never really happen.

I wondered if the season ending episode was set up so that if they didn't renew George would have died, ie, they taped 2 endings to the show..the irony of George dying like Susan, via invitations.

I'm sorry. I've been on another planet for a while, and I totally blacked out on the season finale. Can someone please refresh my memory about what happened in that episode.

Given that the George character has been used extensively in the physical comedy side of the show, I doubt that his condition will last. I expect he'll be cured by the first show of the new season or shortly thereafter.

I forget now.... what's wrong with George?

(That should tell you something about last season. I remember the earlier episodes pretty well, but I haven't even bothered watching the reruns this summer, I can't think of any episodes that I'd like to see again).

On another note, a tabloid has reported that JLD has asked producers to "sex up" Elaine's character. The ragsheet said to expect more revealing outfits and a more agressive Elaine.

she isn't aggressive enough? i would think there would be more revealing outfits now that she has had the baby (has she?) and can stop hiding her stomach.

OK, I can't remember what exactly he broke, but I know he couldn't walk. In the last scene he was trying to walk using those paralell bar things to drag himself. The nurse was paying no attention to him because she was helping the woman Elaine worked with to swing her arms when she walked (Molly Shannon from SNL). George fell over and nobody paid any attention to him. That was the very end. He had NOT recovered before this. He was just starting his recovery.
