Jason on Star Trek

I just saw Jason Alexander as an annoying philosopher on Star Trek Voyager, the episode was called Think Tank. Did anyone know about this? Has Jason appeared in other episodes? Is he a Star Trek fan?

He has said in an interview that early in his career he modeled his acting after the classically trained (Canadian actor) Bill Shatner and was sorry he could never play in "Star Trek: Next Generation". I thought his character on "Voyager" was weak, though, and too similar to his own personality. I would have liked to see him as a strong villain or something a lot different from what he did.
