Minor characters who got their own NBC show.

Not necessarily their own show, but a recurring role in an NBC sitcom. A few I can think of:

Kathy (last name?) - Suddenly Susan (don't know her name - the gal who liked George as a "bad boy") - Working Daphne from Fraiser The helicopter pilot from Wings Helen Hunt?

Hmm... I did much worse at that than I thought I would. Could anyone help?

No it was Vicki Lewis....she played Georges secretary that he hired for efficiency but ended up sleeping with anyway......

Not sure which network shows "Friends" in the States, but an obvious one would be Courtney Cox who pretended to be Jerry's wife in (The Wife?) so she could get a discount on her dry-cleaning.

Yes, and don't forget Debra Jo Rupp who shows up periodically on Friends as well.

Also Debra Messing, I believe that's her name, stars in Will and Grace as Grace. The Boss from Newsradio cameo's in an episode as well. And also the guy that's naked on the bus is the Manager of the Country Club in Saved By Bell. =)

As for this question, I can think of a few more. The bank manager from the bank that promised $100 if they didn't say hello, is Jimmy James from NewsRadio. Bania is now a regular character on Working. Three people have gone on to the Drew Carey Show. Kathy Kinney was in the parking garage where George stole the handicapped spot. And the lady who didn't care if George draped himself in velvet at the Kennedy Center is on the same show. The third was George's zookeeper girlfriend, but she left "Carey" after the first year. Finally, Courtney Cox. Those are just a few.

The helicopter pilot was the sexy gal who Brian was always after, successfully at times. I was thinking that she appeared on Seinfeld prior to her Wings stint, but I might be thinking of Roz from Frasier. Or maybe it was neither. Anyone?

They weren't minor characters, but both Wayne Knight (Newman) and Jerry Stiller (Frank Costanza) didn't miss a beat...Knight is now a regular on 3d Rock, and Stiller a co-star of "King of Queens" over on CBS. They're both getting even more air time (and also presumably more $$) now than they did on Seinfeld.

Speaking of Seinfeld characters who got their own shows, didn't Teri Hatcher do her first famous appearance as the "real...and spectacular" Sidra, just before she got her starring part in "Lois and Clark" over at ABC?

She appeared as SIDRA in Seinfeld in Feb. 1993 - 7 months earlier. Not of course, in 1990 as I originally said. That was the date of Seinfelds first season.

I thought that I might be. I've tried to jog my memory on what I'm thinking of. Was it that Peri Gilpin had a minor part in a Wings episode? She locked Brian in a telephone booth or something? That would explain my confusion, but I'm still not sure if that was what I was thinking of.
