Having been a fairly frequent contibutor to this newsgroup for
several months, I've gotten into my share of verbal disputes.Most of these
have been self-inflicted, as my smart-ass, sarcastic sense of humor
doesn't always sit well with those it is directed at,(after all, I DID
grow up in New York) and I fully expect to be chastised in return.
I, like many others, have adopted the practice of closing my posts
with a quote.Some have been one's that I considered humorus, some that I
considered pertinent to the subject being discussed, and some that just
struck a chord for me.
One that I've used often, and would place in both the first and last
categories is as follows:"If a woman has to choose between catching a fly ball and saving an infant's life, she will choose to save the infant's life without even considering if there are men on base."
I, of course attributed the quote to it's author, which happens to be Dave Barry, the humor writer.Now, I certainly don't expect everyone to share my opinions on what's funny,but this quote struck a particular chord with me, since it includes a baseball reference( a personal passion), and also contains a little dig at the political correctness of our times.
This morning I received the following message via e-mail:

Is this supposed to be funny? Obviously anyone would save another person's life rather than catch a fly ball. Whoever would see a dilemna in this has something wrong with them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------
This leaves me with one simple query for Zev...What in the world possesses an obviously extrememly serious person such as yourself to watch a show like Seinfeld?
