Kramer wrote a coffee table book about coffee tables. He later sold the rights to the book to be made into a movie. In "The Andria Doria" he also mentions he'd written a book about great disasters at sea. He also had a hell of a day at the track that left him with a nice wad of cash in "The Subway" (at least I think it was called "The Subway"). Not really "work", but a nice source of income.
Didn't Kramer also model for Calvin Klein?
