Why is it that the doors on the stalls do not come all the way down to the floor?
Doors on the stalls?
Fans discuss why bathroom stall doors don't extend to the floor, with one noting it allows visibility of occupancy and another making a "we're living in a society" reference.

perhaps so people can see if the stall is OCUPADO?

Not in the U.K.
They're still using shiny white.
Remember that song, "Shiny, shiny, bad times behind me". It started out life as a advertisement for the toilet paper.

Kevin, I suspect by your other thread with Dave about TBS and your response here that you are missing an essential element of communications here on a.t.s. The premise is this:
Someone makes a statement such as, "why is it that the doors on the stalls do not come all the way down to the floor?"
That's usually a line of dialogue somewhere in the vast Seinfeld canon. Or it may just be near the dialogue or may be fresh dialogue based on some other Seinfeld related topic, but in the canon, nevertheless.
Then someone else responds; either with the answering line of dialogue or with another separate yet related line from the canon, such as, "why don't baseball players play in cotton uniforms?"
Yet another contributor (or sometimes the OP (original poster) responds back with the answering line or another, related line from the canon, such as, "why toilet paper has not changed in my lifetime?
This continues until people get tired of it or it resolves itself of its own momentum (hint: Seinfeld related phrase embedded there--watch for possible response) or until we get to a point where someone, still quoting from the canon says, " what are you talking about? A lot has changed with toilet paper..."
Then some unsuspecting reader, not in on the joke, responds as if the question were genuine by saying something on the order of, "not in the U.K. They're still using shiny white.
You may want to review your reading of other threads. You may also want to bone up on your Seinfeld dialogue in preparation for these exercises. How else do you think a newsgroup devoted to a TV show that has been off the air in original programming for nearly seven years remains so active.

If someone took a hand puppet and it peered over the stall and started talking to you, could you finish taking a dump with this thing looking at you? Most people can't go if someone is watching, I'm not sure if puppets count.
Telescopic mirrors are another fun prop to use in bathroom stalls.
Another fun trick is to drop a marble in a toilet and scream "Holy shit, I lost my glass eye!!!"
