You are missing the funny scene where Elaine calls Jerry, and the accountant calls Elaine, asks to see the rat-hat, Elaine hangs up, and leave Jerry waiting =) That was a quite humorous.

BTW Has anyone here tried the can I call you back trick? I would love to hear of some outcomes! =) Probably the best way is to start breathing heavily, and in a gruff voice, ask what they are wearing. I bet you don't get any telesales for another month! =)

yeah I used to work at a telemarketing centre and if you ask someone if you can call them at home, all you usually get is a toll free 1-800 number, also if you just did the heavy breathing and the what are you wearing, your call will be rescheduled for really early on a Saturday, any time you tell someone off or try to act funny you are going to be awakened on a Saturday morning, unless the person who called you has a sense of humor then you might get 2 weeks instead. The best line I ever had was when I said "You've been pre-approved for the blah blah", buddy said "Well you've been pre-approved for a threesome with me and my wife", I took him off the list because I found it so funny

Most of the time when someone does ask to be taken off the list and they don't listen to the entire Do Not Call response, their request becomes void and will be rescheduled for a couple of days. There is nothing that can really be done, because whenever anyone threatens legal action the tsr just had to fill out a sheet. I loved getting to fill out those sheets because it meant you got about a half an hour off the phone

Hmm, THAT doesn't seem right. If this were true then telemarketers could simply read a ten-minute spiel, and if the person hung up in the middle they could legally call again? No, I'm certainly no lawyer but that doesn't make any sense.

If a telemarketer calls me again after I've given them the "do not call" request and tries to use that excuse to weasel out of it, I'll let you know how it turns out. :-)

Companies will honor the request, though. I had a credit card, and the company was calling me once a week to sell me insurance to pay off the balance in case I'm laid off. I finally got fed up, and told them to quit calling, the operator apologized for bothering me, and I never got another call from that company.
