In the pilot "Good News, Bad News", about 2/3 of the way through, Jerry is talking to George (wearing a British golfing hat) in his apartment, and says, "Wait a minute, Art. I didn't clean the bathroom." At least it sure sounds like that to me. Jerry definitely calls him George later in the episode.

That's funny. But George was pretending to be Art Vandelay later on in the series...perhaps at the time of the pilot they didn't have figured out yet what Jasons character would be named like, George or Art...maybe that's why they said both names in the pilot. Geezz, this sounds stupid anyways. Good remark tho.

I think you have two episodes in mind - Good News Bad News was the pilot episode and George's dad is not in it. It is not until The Handicapped Spot, a few years later that we meet (any of )George's dad(s).

Wasn't Casey talking about Jerry's dad? Anyways, I recently saw The Handicapped Spot for the first time, I hated the guy who played George's dad. Really no good character in comparison to the *real* George's dead...SERENITY NOW! Talking about parents...I prefer George's parents above Jerry's..Jerry's parents are so soft, easy-going, George's are always screaming to each other...love it!

The original poster was talking about Jerry's dad, not George's. But I still think you're correct that he's thinking of two episodes--the pilot and the second episode, "The Stakeout", the only episode featuring Phil Bruns as Jerry's dad.

What might be a good way to verify what is said, is to put on Closed Caption while watching it. This also works if it was video taped, it doesn't have to be a live broadcast.

The Seinfeld Scripts (Boxtree publications) gives the line as..

But then of course, these could be Scripts, as opposed to Transcripts, and may not be accurate to the filmed episodes.. (Not sure)
