NBC is considering a spinoff featuring the Elaine character. I think this would be a smart move. Elaine could very well end up being the distaff version of Frasier. JLD is an excellent actress with her own following. I would like to find out what other members of this newsgroup think about the idea.

NBC will create an Elaine spinoff series.

The gold mine spin-off NBC is sitting on and not realizing is "The Constanzas". Jerry Stiller ranting and raving about life in New York, Great TV!! George marrying Susan and the contrasting in-laws would be a take-off on the old "Bridget loves Bernie" genre.IMHO

That could be a very funny series. I doubt if NBC would go for it, though. Look at the ages of the main stars in most of NBC's sitcoms. Seinfeld, Friends, Wings, The Single Guy, Boston Common, 3rd Rock, Mad About You, Fresh Prince, Caroline in the City, News Radio. Hell, Frasier and Larroquette are the oldest ones. If NBC doesn't see the potential for a show to attract the Gen-X viewer, they won't even consider it.

That's a tough one. Single women oriented sitcoms haven't been doing very well lately, but could "Lainee" pull if off? Look at "Caroline in the City". Ratings aren't that great. The beauty of Seinfeld is that the four characters work together. I think most would agree that those few episodes featuring only two characters have been below par. Same thing about Wings. The character Lowell works really well with the others, but off in his own series he just doesn't seem to cut it. Ratings are dragging.
