does george like gum or not?

On the last-season episode where George is afraid he is dating a girl only because she looks like Jerry, they reminisce about when they met, and it seems they had a taste for gum in common. George is all excited about this, proclaiming, "We love gum!" as a legitimate reason for his attraction to her, apart from her resemblance to Seinfeld. But on the episode about Lloyd Braun's attempt to run the movie theatre, when Lloyd offers George the lo-meiny chinese gum, he declines, saying "I'm not much of a gum guy." I think the writers slipped up here consistency-wise!

I don't think this is an inconsistency.....

We all know how much George was jealous of Braun, and since he learned that Braun was in a mental institute, he tells everyone about it... George doesn't like the guy. I don't think George would really like to get gum from Braun, so he just made up an excuse....

First off, George didn't REALLY like gum. He used gum as an arbitrary reason to feel a sense of relief that he is not REALLY attracted to Seinfeld. Basically, you're taking it a bit to seriously....who cares. I'm a gum guy once in a while and sometimes I am...we're human beings, not machines!!!!

If I saw an attractive woman like Tracey Nelson (the Jerry look-alike) enjoying Brussel Sprouts and liver at a party, I'd claim to love them just to strike up a conversation with her. I think George used their shared interest in gum to have an "in" with a woman he was attracted to. (WHY he was attracted is another question.)

Does anyone agree with the TV Guide compilation that it feels right that Goerge would find love with a "lady Jerry"? Think about it. Who on this planet does Goerge have a better relationship with than Jerry? So if he's looking for love, what better than a woman who has some of the same qualities? In fact, I think he should go further and start pursuing Jerry's former fiancee, who acted almost exactly like him (played by Janeane Garafolo).
