Hello Seinfeldfans,

I have a question. I downloaded The Slicer on DivX, but it doesn't work. I downloaded it 3 times, but when I play it, I only get sound. How do I solve this problem?

download the latest codec and if that doesn't work make sure you have the latest version of media player from microsoft !!

Maybe you downloaded a crappy divx file, seems there are a lot of those throughout the Internet. But divx files are excellent and the quality is way better over vcd if you have a proper encode. Download Windows Media Player 6.4. Divx for some reason runs a hell of alot smoother on it. Then download Angel Potion Video Codec V1 and then Divx Mpeg-4 Codec. It should work for you now. Well thats what I did.

WMP and Angel Potion codec are very much outdated. I also read some articles regarding the Angel Potion codecs (I wish I still had the link to show you), but if you're using the AP codec to encode your own divx movies, it'll keep adding duplicate files to your hard drive, and some other negative issues. I strongly recommend the divx 4.x codec, preferably the 4.11, or 4.12 version.

Also, for now, I would recommend to stay away from the new divx 5 codec. It' s new and has adware added with it. Meaning, if you install it to your HD, you'll occasionally have their banners popping up while you're online. (kinda like spy-ware) However, that is just the divx version 5 "pro". Just stick with the divx version"s" 4.

Now, here is a link to an awesome program called PowerDivx 3.12 next generation. The playback is a hell of a lot better then Windows Media Player. It's only about 1.5 meg, and you can download it for free at: http://www.powerdivx.com/
