I believe it's called the AGING process. You might have heard of it. (Besides, wouldn't you be inclined to feed your face a bit too much if you thought you were destined for a marriage you didn't really want but could see no way out of? I know I would. The fact that he is fatter and balder is no suprise to me)
The real question is, did his breasts grow? I think he's ready for a "bro" or "manzier."

i think that you're confusing the character with the actor. the actor is, i believe, very happily married. if the actor gains weight, then the character does too. i've heard of this being done for movies (worst case scenario: shelly winters for "the poseidon adventure", and she was never able to lose it again). i've never heard of an actor fattening up for a sitcom.

Now that you mention it...I always thought this was a bad idea. It was out of character for George *not* to be able to get out of a relationship. And the worst of it was that in some episodes he tried to get Susan to dislike him, while in others, he went to great lengths to avoid getting caught at something that might make her mad. It never made sense. Not to start the killing Susan thread again, but it was so unecessary that it was more dumb than cruel or morbid.

The susan character never worked for me after the engagement. Seems like the writers couldn't make up their minds what to do.
Overall, the show is not nearly as good as it was at its peak, but I still love it.
