Not Seinfeld related, but did anyone else think that the Ellen finale was way too long and boring? The only part that I thought was funny was the I Love Lucy parody.

I completely agree. I used to really enjoy her show... and I don't blame her coming out for the show going downhill. It just really stopped being funny, and this episode was just case in point.

Yikes,Ellen likes to blame the network for discriminating against her but the truth is her show was not funny and this plodding,boring hour was testament to that. Filled with jokes that must have looked good on paper "Finger the pinko's",etc. they fell flat and this was an embarrassing finale for her. Lets hope Jerry goes out in a blaze of glory...perhaps not quite the blaze the show went out with last week! [email]

There will undoubtedly be some moments from Seinfeld which will endure. I happen to think the "Not that there's anything wrong with it" catchphrase may stay. Also, Yadda, Yadda, Yadda may be similar to Yabba Dabba Doo.

Mr. c5555, could you have possibly thought of more obvious observations? NTTAWWI is very funny within the context of the show but a meaningless catchphrase, one that is well worn out, outside of it. I'm personally real tired of people saying YYY and NTTAWWI when they're talking about Seinfeld. There is something wrong with it!!
Yeah, like dozens. Oops, make that hundreds. One easy example would be the scene in the Sniffing Accountant where Kramer tries to impress the guy with how hip he is by downing a beer at the same time as he's smoking a cigarette; his classic toast "here's to feeling good all the time"; the way he shutters when he accidently puts his cigarette in backwards; "I'm hip to the bathroom scene". This is brilliant slapshtick and very very funny.
BTW, I think the scene where Lucy's nose catches fire is funnier than the one you mentioned.

In fact, the only other Lucy similarity on Seinfeld that comes to my mind is the infamous Armriore thief with the exagerrated Spanish accent being similar to Ricky Ricardo. Of course, back then, we didn't have to be politically correct.
