He was in Toronto a few years ago with a large Maytag promotion. I got to speak with him privately for a while.
He seemed to be a very fine person and was quite pleased to be talking to me about the shows he was in; Soap, WKRP, and Seinfeld. He said everyone always talked to him about "the turkey" line from WKRP. (I did too.) He said working on that show with the terrific cast they had was the best part of his career.
I am sorry to hear of his passing.
